Scrub is one of my favourite steps of my skincare regime. I like using them on weekly basis (I'm discipline about this!) and love the after-feel effect of scrubs - clean and fresh! To start a skincare review, I like to begin with one of my favourite scrubs... the Etude House Baking Powder Crunch Pore Scrub! Wait a minute...Baking Powder? Yupe, you didn't read it wrongly. Read more below to find out what this baking powder is all about! :)
THE PRODUCT
It is formulated with Baking Powder (yes, the active ingredient) to penetrate, exfoliate and cleanse skin deep within pores to remove makeup and residues. This scrub cleanser is also formulated with peppermint to soothe skin.
Weight: 7g each pouch (total 24 pouches in a box)

Country: Made in Korea

The texture of the scrub is very fine and it looks like wet icing sugar. When squeezed out from the pouch, the scrub is milky in color and fine grainy in texture. The tiny granules are not very visible but you can feel them as you massage onto your skin. As you scrub, it becomes clearer in color and it starts to dissolve which means time to rinse off!
The scrub doesn't feel rough on skin at all. However, please do not assume that when a scrub feels so fine on our skin meaning we need to scrub harder to properly exfoliate. We should always massage gently (in circular motion) to minimize skin irritation, dryness or redness caused by excessive scrubbing.
THE PACKAGING
The box is in pyramid shape and it contains 24 small pyramid-shaped pouches of scrub. I like that the scrubs are in small pouches so that I can bring the quantity I want for travel. This is the first time I come across such shape for a scrub. Come to think about, it is cute looking and creative too!
There is a line cut on each pouch. Hence it is easy to tear off the pouch to squeeze out the product without scissors to cut it.
THE WAYS TO USE IT
As per instruction on the packaging: Tear along the dotted line to extract scrub cleanser from pouch (1 pouch per application). Apply cleanser to wet face, lather and massage then rinse off with warm water. Use 1-2 times per week.
Etude recommended using 1 pouch per application but to finish 7g of product at one go is definitely a lot for my face. I can split the usage into 2-3 times (just nice!) and I read some bloggers do so as well.
LBK'S REVIEW
- Love this scrub cleanser a lot! It exfoliates well leaving my skin clean without feeling tight.
- The granules are very fine hence I don't feel roughness when I massage the scrub on my skin.
- I like the scrub in small pouches as I can easily bring a few for trips.
- The lemon-citrus scent is refreshing and not overpowering for me
- Overall, this is a good scrub to purchase without breaking the bank.
SOME LBK MINUS POINTS
- After washing off, there is some kind of "residue feel" on my fingers and hairline (face is fine). Not much of a concern, just to highlight here in case anyone experiences the same too. I'm loving this product anyway!
LBK says this product is a love for her. Will repurchase.
Two more days for a short trip to Genting Highlands...woo hoo! Hoping for a nice weather. Will be back soon!

I love the post, especially Korean beauty products.
