To be honest, the first thing when I know there is new (not newest new) cream eyeshadow out in the market by Maybelline, it didn't really got me much excited. Firstly, is because I'm still having a few cream eyeshadow pots lying 'screaming' for my attention to use them! Secondly, Maybelline score well in their mascaras (I love them!) but cream eyeshadow? Hrmm...
Out of curiosity, I googled and realized that actually a lot of people have reviewed and blogged about it. Beauty products have always make me curious to explore further and I'm not sure if it's good (for pretty makeup) or bad (for the wallet)! Its reviews were mostly good and positive! Oh my, the more I read the more I wanted to just rush out to any nearest place I could get hold of this baby!

Pic below shows Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo with two cream eyeshadow brands I own as well - namely Benefit Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow (shade Skinny Jeans) and Bobbi Brown Long Wear Cream Shadow (shade Galaxy). These two brands are popular for their cream eyeshadows as well.
Comparison of weight of products:-
Maybelline 24 Hour Color Tattoo - 4g
Benefit - 4.5g
Bobbi Brown - 3.5g
THE SHADE AND SWATCH
There are eight shades available in Malaysia namely:-
- Tenacious Teal (turquoise)
- Fierce & Tangy (orange)
- Bold Gold (shimmery gold)
- Painted Purple (purple)
- Edge Emerald (green)
- Bad To The Bronze (bronze)
- Tough As Taupe (taupe)
- Audacious Asphalt (grey)
I got a chance to try them at Guardian but the testers were tad disappointing. They were all harden up and I hardly could swatch any shades. Still, it didn't stop my "cravings" to get one of its shade. I was looking and considering Bad To The Bronze and Tough As Taupe. I always thought that bronze looks swollen on my eyes. But this Bad To The Bronze looks like a lovely color as compare to Tough As Taupe. I wanted to give it a try!
So I went home with Bad To The Bronze! Wee heee!!!
THE PACKAGING
It comes in a glass pot with black cap. The product name, shade, weight and manufacturing country are stated on the cap while the name of the product is again printed on the bottom of the glass pot. Overall, it looks nice!
It weighs a little but it is not bothersome. The cream eyeshadow can be used solo on its own so bringing out the pot will not take up much space (if one is thinking to just bring out one eye makeup item instead of multiple eyeshadow palettes).
THE WAYS TO USE IT
There are 3 ways of using this eyeshadow:-
- As liner
- As eyeshadow
- As eyeshadow base
Oh my! This is such a versatile product to be able to use in 3 functional ways! I have used it on its own as eyeshadow together with eyeliner. Definitely great for me when I'm doing an express makeup (everything needs to be "chop chop chop" done in minutes!).
LBK'S REVIEWS
- Upon application, it feels smooth and creamy on the eyes. I used it after Urban Decay eyeshadow primer.
- I used it as eyeshadow and the shade doesn't look swollen on my eyes. Yeah, loving the choice of shade!
- For the price (a steal at MYR19.90 per pot!), I'm amazed by the quality, the intensity and the smoothness of the eyeshadow. Three words impress, impress...and IMPRESS!!!
- It doesn't smudge on me, so is a wow! Don't we just detest when eye makeups smudge on us and we end up like a panda = =" ?
- Such an ease to use. I used fingers to apply as eyeshadow and top up with an eyeliner. Simple and straightforward!
SOME LBK MINUS POINTS
- There are only 3 neutral shades available here while the rest are bright shades. Wish that there are more beautiful neutral shades in the future.
- Seriously, I can't think of any other fault with this lovely at this point of time!
LBK says this product is a love for her. Will repurchase.
So, are you a fan too? Do let me know what are your favorite shades and how do you use them.
